GTA 6: Everything Confirmed Ahead of Launch, Plus Where to Pre-Order

Grand Theft Auto VI is set to release on 19 November 2026, and it is comfortably the most anticipated game of the decade. This is a pre-release guide, not a review; we don't fabricate a Trust Index score for a game nobody outside Rockstar has actually played. What follows is a straight rundown of what Rockstar has confirmed, what the trailers show, and where you can currently pre-order.

Why We're Not Scoring This Yet

Every other page on this site carries an Ardzy Trust Index built from genuine owner feedback after people have actually used the product. GTA 6 hasn't released, so there is no owner feedback to draw on, and no reviewer outside Rockstar has played a finished build. Publishing a made-up score before launch would be exactly the kind of fabricated content we've built this site to avoid. This page exists to summarise confirmed facts, not to pretend we've reviewed something we haven't.

Setting and Story: Back to Vice City

Rockstar has confirmed the game returns to a modern-day reimagining of Vice City and the wider state of Leonida, its fictional take on Florida. The story follows two protagonists, Lucia and Jason, in a Bonnie-and-Clyde-style narrative, marking the first time a woman has been a playable lead in the series' main story. Trailers have shown a noticeably more grounded, character-driven tone than GTA 5's, with Rockstar leaning into a Florida-crime-story aesthetic rather than pure satire.

What the Trailers Have Actually Shown

Across its trailer releases, Rockstar has shown a significantly denser city, dynamic crowd behaviour, and weather systems including hurricanes that visibly affect the game world. Vehicle handling in the footage appears to sit between GTA 4's weightier physics and GTA 5's more arcade feel, though nobody outside Rockstar has hands-on time to confirm how it actually plays. Take this section as a summary of marketing material, not a verified assessment.

Release Date and Platforms

GTA 6 is confirmed for 19 November 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. A PC version has not been given a release date and, based on Rockstar's past pattern with GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2, is likely to arrive some time after the console launch rather than alongside it. Anyone planning to play on PC should expect a wait beyond November.

Where to Pre-Order

Standard and premium editions are listed for pre-order through major retailers, including Amazon, ahead of the November launch. Pre-ordering secures day-one access but, as with any game, doesn't guarantee anything about final quality, and we'd rather you pre-order with realistic expectations than an assumption of a guaranteed 10 out of 10. We'll publish our actual, honestly-scored review once we've had real time with the finished game.
